According to a recent Gallup Poll, “Americans are smiling less and worrying more than they were a year ago, happiness is down and sadness is up, we are getting less sleep and smoking more cigarettes, and depression is on the rise." Today is Palm Sunday, the day we celebrate the time our Lord entered Jerusalem on a donkey to the acclaim of the crowds. To honor Him they threw palm branches and clothing before Him – the original red carpet treatment! Yet He knew that in just one short week many of that same crowd would be calling to crucify Him. What drove Him forward knowing as He did what lay ahead? The answer is in just one word: JOY!
